NEVER consume anything hot and spicy when you're down with an extremely warm body.
Well, it should be a 'once bitten, twice shy' experience, but the opposite happened. And this is the first time it had slipped my mind.
Just finished my medication last Friday (I had flu and a severe sore throat last week) and thought I could feast into anything I like. There are two days that I would especially like to mention:
Day 1: Saturday, 19 February
This happened just after my Principles of Teaching class..around noon. We were at lunch at a coffee shop in Subang Jaya, my dad and I. Dad ordered dry wanton mee...me? Prawn mee, of course! Luckily it wasn't with meehoon..hehe!
My usual prawn mee is without the chilli oil, but on that day I've forgotten to ask the uncle not to put chilli oil into mine. So, there goes the wait, then the mee...WITH chilli oil. Even there is chilli in the spoon too!
I poured the chilli in the spoon into dad's wanton chilli (I mean the green chillis they serve seperately from the mee)..oh no..but he said he didn't mind as he doesn't eat it. Phew!
Even after taking Soybean without ice, the sore throat got even worse.
WORST: I didn't know they serve 'Kat Jai Shin Mui' (Honey Lime with Sour Plum) in that shop...until I saw them serving it to another table. That drink could relieve my sore throat! ARGH!!! *cries in agony*
Day 2: Monday, 20 February
After a long morning at home, I went to lunch with Mom..not after getting to the bank ..:P
Went to some Indian mamak shop..it's near the bank, btw..took a seat, and ordered stuff. Mom ordered chapati, me = Fried Maggi Mee with chicken meat. Hey, I wondered if I could swallow the mee in whole since I was hungry to death (Note: BREAD IS INSUFFICIENT FOR BRUNCH).
Mom's food came first...then, it's wait, wait, wait....
After about 10 long minutes..(sorry if I'm exaggerating here, I was too famished!)
IT'S HERE!
The Maggi mee looks scrumptious..even though not very pleasant aesthetically, haha. But then, can't even take more than THREE bites after the first meal.
HOW WOULD I KNOW THIS COULD BE TOO SPICY? AND TOO HOT AND HOT!
And halfway eating, I accidentally dropped food onto one of the pages of the Economics book I was reading. As usual, I had to clean the mess, but try as I might, everything is in vain. I even spoilt some parts of the page! Well, fortunately, the page wasn't torn..but my aunt's going to kill me for this. WHAT???!!!!
I could take a bit more after squeezing some lime juice, but other than that, no more food...except Teh Tarik Ais.
It didn't improve my condition either.
On the bright side, if I haven't consumed enough water to cool down myself (on both occasions), I would be burning hot by now!!
Actually, I wanted to insert something into my LJ earlier, but the link didn't work. :( And I had some other stuff to rant ;)
